FBI Investigates New Orleans Attack As Terrorism After Suspect’s Death.

In a shocking turn of events, the FBI has launched an investigation into this morning’s deadly attack in New Orleans, classifying it as an “act of terrorism.” The suspect involved in the incident has been confirmed dead.

At approximately 03:15 local time (09:15 GMT), a man drove a pick-up truck into a large crowd gathered in the French Quarter, an area renowned for its vibrant culture and popularity among tourists. The attack resulted in the tragic loss of ten lives and left at least 35 people injured.

Local police reported that the driver was “hell-bent on creating the carnage he did.” Not only did he use the vehicle as a weapon, but he also opened fire on responding officers, escalating the chaos and danger of the situation.

During an earlier press conference, the FBI disclosed that an improvised explosive device was discovered at the scene. Agents are currently assessing the viability of this device, which adds another layer of complexity to the investigation.

The city, known for its resilience in the face of adversity, now finds itself grappling with the aftermath of this heinous act. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.

This incident has not only left the community in mourning but has also sparked a renewed focus on security measures in public spaces, particularly in areas frequented by tourists. The investigation is ongoing, with the FBI leading the charge to uncover the motives behind this horrific act and ensure justice is served.
