In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the community of Ado Ekiti has been shaken by the untimely death of a young woman, Ifeoluwa Adekalu. The incident occurred at the Okela Police Station in the heart of Ekiti State’s capital.

According to reports, Ifeoluwa Adekalu was fatally struck by a bullet that was accidentally discharged from a police officer’s firearm. Local authorities have confirmed that the officer involved has been disarmed and detained for further questioning. The Ekiti State Police Command has expressed their deep regret over the incident and has assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure justice is served.

This tragic event has sparked discussions about firearm safety and the need for stringent protocols during celebrations or gatherings involving armed personnel. Community leaders and residents have called for immediate action to review and enhance the training and oversight of police officers to prevent such accidents in the future.
