Governor Sir Similanayi Fubara of Rivers State presented the 2024 appropriation bill to the Edison Ehie-led faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday.

This budget, aptly named the ‘Rivers of Renewed Hope and Consolidation Appropriation Bill,’ was submitted to a five-member Assembly presided over by Ehie.

This presentation occurred against the backdrop of a series of events, including the defection of 27 lawmakers and the demolition of the State Assembly complex located on the well-known Moscow Road in Port Harcourt.

The Governor, undeterred by the recent political shifts and disruptions, took the opportunity to outline the key components and priorities encapsulated in the 2024 budget. Despite the challenges faced by the state Assembly, the presentation signals a commitment to the democratic process and governance.

The pictures below capture the atmosphere of the presentation and the dynamics of the five-member Assembly led by Edison Ehie.

Stay tuned for further updates on this evolving situation.
