President Tinubu Seeks Senate Confirmation For Development Commission Appointees.

President Bola Tinubu has submitted a request to the Senate for the confirmation of appointees to the South West, North Central, and South South Development Commissions. This move is part of President Tinubu’s efforts to fill key positions in various government agencies and commissions, following his signing into law of the South-West Development Commission and South-South Development Commission bills.

Appointees by Commission

– North Central Development Commission

– Chairman: Cosmas Akiyir

– Managing Director: Cyril Yeltsin

– 17 other appointees

– South West Development Commission

– Chairman: Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi

– Managing Director: Dr. Charles Akinola

– 16 other appointees

– South South Development Commission

– Chairman: Chibudom Nwuche

– Managing Director: Usoro Offiong Akpabio

– 16 other appointees

The nominees will undergo screening by respective Senate committees before confirmation. The Senate has previously confirmed nominees for similar positions, such as the North-West Development Commission and South-East Development Commission, where 14 and 18 nominees were confirmed, respectively.

This development follows President Tinubu’s commitment to regional development, and the Senate has assured that it will fast-track the confirmation process for the nominees. The appointments are expected to boost the development of the respective regions, aligning with the president’s vision for Nigeria’s growth and progress.
