Arsenal’s Unbeaten Run Ends With 2-0 Defeat At Bournemouth.
Arsenal missed the opportunity to top the Premier League after a surprising 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth in Saturday’s late fixture. The loss brought an end to the Gunners’ unbeaten start to the season.
Mikel Arteta’s side was reduced to 10 men in the first half when William Saliba was shown a red card for a last-man tackle. Despite a solid performance in the early stages, the sending-off shifted the balance in Bournemouth’s favour.
The Cherries capitalised on their numerical advantage in the second half, opening the scoring through Ryan Christie. His powerful strike came after a well-executed set-piece routine. Arsenal’s problems worsened when Jakub Kiwior’s misplaced back-pass led to goalkeeper David Raya bringing down Evanilson in the box, resulting in a penalty. Justin Kluivert coolly converted the spot-kick to secure Bournemouth’s victory.
With this defeat, Arsenal remain in third place with 17 points from eight matches, while Bournemouth continue to climb up the table after a crucial home win.
