Oyo Government Urges Calm Amid Boundary Dispute With Osun.

The Oyo State Government has issued a statement urging calm and restraint amid the ongoing boundary dispute with Osun State. Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, called on agitators to sheathe their swords and allow the two state governments to continue mature discussions on resolving the land dispute.

Oyelade emphasised that the protracted dispute is not intractable and that traditional institutions should not hinder the peaceful resolution process. He noted that Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke are cooperating fully with the National Boundary Commission through their representatives.

The government is optimistic that an amicable solution will be reached soon. Oyelade urged both sides to stop the blame game and instead focus on supporting the ongoing discussions between the two state governments.

The Oyo State Government’s statement aims to promote peace and stability in the region, encouraging stakeholders to remain calm and patient as the governments work towards a resolution. The dispute’s outcome is eagerly awaited, with many hoping for a mutually beneficial solution.
