The Nigerian Senate has postponed its resumption from the annual recess by one week, moving the date from September 17, 2024, to September 24, 2024.

This was confirmed through an internal memorandum issued by the Clerk of the Senate, Chinedu Akubueze, on Wednesday.

The memo, titled “Change in Resumption Date from Summer Break,” indicated that the Senate leadership directed the shift. Lawmakers were informed that the rescheduled resumption will take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11 a.m.

The Senate had earlier commenced its annual recess on July 23, 2024, and was initially slated to resume on September 17, 2024.
