Nigeria Introduces Medipool Policy To Slash Medicine And Medical Supply Costs.

The Federal Government has unveiled a transformative policy named Medipool, designed to reduce the cost of medicines and medical supplies across Nigeria. The announcement came during the Federal Executive Council meeting, chaired by President Bola Tinubu, at the State House in Abuja on Monday.

 

The Medipool initiative will facilitate group purchasing of essential medical items, enabling bulk buying from suppliers to drive down prices. This strategy is expected to make critical drugs and healthcare products more affordable for hospitals and individuals alike, while ensuring timely distribution to areas of greatest need without inflated costs.





 

By addressing both accessibility and affordability, Medipool aims to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system, ensuring that vital medical supplies reach communities efficiently. Further details on the policy’s implementation are expected soon.
