Marcus Rashford has expressed his strong desire to make his loan move to FC Barcelona permanent, revealing that he hopes to stay with the Catalan club for the long term.

The England forward, who joined Barcelona on a season-long loan from Manchester United in July 2025, has impressed with his performances, including scoring a brace against Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League. Rashford has praised his teammates, highlighting the talent of players like Pedri and Lamine Yamal, and believes the team has the potential to achieve great success this season.

Since arriving in Spain, Rashford has quickly adapted to Barcelona’s playing style, demonstrating versatility across various attacking positions under coach Hansi Flick. His form has been lauded by former England striker Gary Lineker, who described him as a key figure for Barcelona in the upcoming El Clásico against Real Madrid. The forward himself expressed excitement about the fixture, calling it “a great game” and admitting it would be a dream to play in one of football’s most iconic encounters.

Rashford’s loan deal includes an option for Barcelona to make the transfer permanent for around €30 million at the end of the season. Both the player and the club have indicated mutual interest in extending the arrangement, although final decisions are expected to be made closer to the end of the campaign. The forward’s consistent performances and adaptation to La Liga football are seen as key factors in influencing the club’s decision.

The upcoming El Clásico represents a major test for Rashford, as he aims to contribute decisively in a high-pressure environment. His recent form, combined with Barcelona’s tactical plans, positions him as a potential difference-maker in the fixture. Analysts suggest that a strong performance could further strengthen his case for a permanent move and solidify his role as a leading figure in the squad.

Rashford’s impact at Barcelona extends beyond individual performance. He has quickly integrated into the team, building chemistry with key players and supporting the squad’s attacking strategies. Observers note that his ability to link play, create chances, and score goals makes him a valuable asset for Barcelona as they compete for domestic and European honors.

As the season continues, attention will remain on Rashford’s performances and the potential permanent transfer. Fans and pundits alike are watching closely, anticipating how the England international will influence Barcelona’s fortunes and whether he can establish himself as a long-term fixture at one of Europe’s top clubs.
