Lagos State Governor Appoints Dr. Bankole Olabisi, 6 Others As PS, Says It’s In Tandem With The Health Sector Reform

The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed Dr. Bankole Olufunmilayo Olabisi and 6 others as the permanent secretaries in his state.

Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Governors’ Head of service made this known in a statement.

Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunmilayo Olabisi Bankole is a highly skilled ophthalmologist renowned for her expertise in training doctors.

She has an impressive background, having served as a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Isolo General Hospital in Lagos State for several years.

Additionally, she took on the role of Acting Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of the hospital during a specific period. Upon her announcement,she is Consultant Special Grade I, Ministry of Health.





The New Permanent Secretary, Dr. Bankole, Olufunmilayo Olabisi with Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu, Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat and others appointed as Perm. Sec of different Ministries.
 Her vast experience and leadership contribute to the advancement of healthcare services in the State.

The others are Dr. Cecilia Abimbola, former Consultant Special Grade I, Health Service Commission, Dr. Zamba Olutoyin Emmanuella, former Chief Medical Officer/General Manager, Lagos State Health Management Agency, Dr. Lajide, Oludayo Ibidunni, former Chief Dental Officer, Ministry of Health; Dr. Adeleke, Monsurat, former Chief Medical Officer/Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State Aids Control Agency and Dr. Asiyanbi, Oladapo Olubanwo, former Chief Medical Officer, Primary Health Care Board.

Muri-Okunola emphasised that the appointments take effect from 10th July, 2023, while their deployment is with immediate effect. He also urged the appointees to prepare and leave a detailed handover note with the most senior Director of their previous MDAs.
