Kanu Nwankwo Appointed Vodacom Global Ambassador In Tanzania.

Football icon Kanu Nwankwo has been appointed as the global ambassador for Vodacom, one of the leading communication giants. Known affectionately as “Papilo” to his millions of fans, Kanu’s remarkable career saw him win an Olympic gold medal with Nigeria’s Dream Team at the 1996 Atlanta Games, alongside numerous other honours.

Kanu, one of Africa’s most decorated football legends, lifted the UEFA Champions League with Ajax and won the Premier League with Arsenal during his illustrious career. Now, the Chairman of Enyimba Football Club has signed on as Vodacom’s global ambassador, a role that will see him feature in various promotions and special activities for the company as disclosed by VARSports.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Kanu expressed his excitement at the partnership, describing it as the perfect opportunity to join one of the world’s most innovative communication companies. “Signing a dotted line with Vodacom is the perfect opportunity to join the communication giant,” Kanu said. “I have already seen how Vodacom is spreading across the world, and its projects are designed to be a force for good in our world.”

As the founder of the Kanu Heart Foundation, Kanu emphasised his desire to work closely with Vodacom to help fulfil the company’s goals and aspirations in the communication industry. He added, “I’ll be working closely with them to help spread the word.”

Philip, the Executive Head of Vodacom Tanzania, alongside Hilda Bujiku, lauded Kanu as a true football legend and expressed their pride in having him join the Vodacom team. “Nwankwo Kanu needs no introduction; he’s a true football legend, and it’s an absolute honour to see him join Vodacom,” Philip said.

Kanu’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for both Vodacom and the football star, as they work together to promote innovative communication projects globally.
