William Troost Ekong fully fit and back to training with clubside Paok Salonikas

William Troost Ekong, the talented defender from Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Paok Salonikas, has successfully recovered from his injury and returned to full fitness.

The injury setback occurred during Ekong’s participation in the African Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast. However, after a period of dedicated rehabilitation and training, Ekong has made a triumphant return to the pitch.

In an official statement released by Paok Salonikas on Thursday morning, the club confirmed Ekong’s return to training and his gradual reintegration into the team.

The club expressed optimism about Ekong’s progress, mentioning that he is following an additional fitness program to ensure he reaches peak match fitness for the upcoming games.

“William Troost Ekong is back to follow an extra program of fitness and gradual reintegration for a period so that he can get up to match fitness for the upcoming games,” the club stated.

Despite his injury, Ekong’s exceptional skills and contributions were recognized during the 2023 AFCON, where he was named the Most Valuable Player.

His return to full fitness is not only a positive development for Paok Salonikas but also a boost for the Super Eagles as they prepare for upcoming 2026 FIFA world cup qualifiers.
