Federal HIgh Court summon AGF to assume Oduah’s case

The lord of the  Federal High court in Abuja has ordered the Attorney general of the Federation to assume Senator Oduah s case.

The court on Friday made this stand as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), arraigned Senator Stella Oduah, a former Minister of Aviation, High Court in Abuja, in connection with graft allegations.

Justice Ekwo cited the controversy surrounding the prosecution of the case as the reason for his decision to have the Attorney-General of the Federation take over.

The Aviation minister from 2011 to 2014 is facing trial over an allegation that she laundered public fund with eight others

Justice Inyang Ekwo, the presiding judge, issued the order following the arraignment of Senator Stella Oduah and the other defendants. They all pleaded not guilty to the 25 counts brought against them by the EFCC.

The court directed the EFCC to transfer the case file to the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation to ensure the diligent prosecution of the defendants.

Oduah and her ex-aide Gloria Odita are among those charged in a 25-count charge (FHC/ABJ/CR/316/2020), alongside Nwosu Emmanuel Nnamdi, Chukwuma Irene Chinyere, Global Offshore and Marine Ltd, Tip Top Global Resources Ltd, Crystal Television Ltd, Sobora International Ltd, and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Nigeria Ltd.

At the end, Justice Ekwo adjourned the case till October 17 for trial.
