Edo Queens Lost CAF Women’s Champions League Third Place After Penalty Heartbreak.

Edo Queens narrowly missed out on a podium finish in the CAF Women’s Champions League after losing 4-3 on penalties to Egyptian side FC Masar in the third-place playoff.

The match, played on Friday, ended goalless in regulation time, mirroring the outcome of the teams’ earlier encounter in the group stage. Despite creating opportunities, both sides were unable to break the deadlock, forcing the game into a penalty shootout.

In the tense shootout, FC Masar held their nerve to edge out Edo Queens, securing third place and leaving the Nigerian side to settle for fourth in their debut campaign.

While Edo Queens fell short of clinching a medal, their journey in the tournament demonstrated resilience and determination, showcasing the growing strength of women’s football in Nigeria. The team will now look to build on their experience and return stronger in future competitions.
