President Bola Tinubu has made swift changes in leadership, relieving Chief Executive Officers of three agencies within the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovations, and Digital Economy.

The changes come into effect immediately.

The affected CEOs are Professor Umar Garba Danbatta of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Sunday Adepoju of the Nigerian Postal Service, and Tukur Funtua of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited.

This announcement was made via a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, under the title, ‘President Tinubu Appoints New Leadership Across the Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy Sectors.’

The newly appointed CEOs are Aminu Maida, who takes the role of Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of NCC, Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, as the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, and Tola Odeyemi, who is appointed as the Postmaster General of NIPOST.

In the decision, Kashifu Abdullahi and Dr. Vincent Olatunji have been reappointed as Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency and the National Commissioner of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, respectively.

Furthermore, President Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of a new Special Adviser on Technology and Digital Economy, Idris Alubankudi. This appointment aims to harness Nigeria’s technological and digital economic strengths to boost the nation’s economy and enhance financial inclusion.
