The Federal High Court in Abuja has suspended the trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Adaeze Oduah in the alleged N7.9 billion fraud charges brought against her by the Federal Government. The Police Command in Kano State has confirmed the arrest of 12 illegal immigrants from Mali and the Niger Republic as well as 33 other suspected criminals. The Central of Nigeria has announced the cessation of the RT200 Rebate and the Naira4Dollar Remittance Schemes. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed a warehouse containing goods worth N1.9 billion in Idu, an outskirt of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The National Universities Commission revealed on Friday that Nigeria now has 264 universities. The number includes universities owned by federal and state governments as well as private individuals and corporations. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, CFR, from office with immediate effect, the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Willie Bassey said in a Friday statement. No fewer than 20 school officials, allegedly aiding and abetting examination malpractice, have been arrested by the West African Examination Council in its ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates.
