Media personality Toke Makinwa has spoken out against the common assumption that single individuals are lonely and unhappy.
Toke argued that many single people lead content and fulfilled lives, contrary to the widespread ideology that happiness is tied to being married.
On her social media handle, she called for a mindset shift as the New Year 2025 approaches, saying:
“Let that rubbish behaviour of thinking that single people are miserable, lonely or sad be left in 2024.”
“There’re so many people in horrible situations (whatever you call it) that secretly wish they were alone, so let people be.”
