Omowunmi Akinnifesi, a Nigerian model and former winner of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN), has revealed that she made a covenant with God at the age of 18 to remain a virgin.

The 37-year-old model shared her story on a recent episode of her podcast, explaining that her decision to abstain from sexual intercourse was a personal choice made as a covenant with God.

Akinnifesi emphasized that her commitment to sexual purity was not about being “celibate” but about consecrating herself to God. She revealed that she had struggled with shame and stigma surrounding her virginity, particularly in her 20s. Akinnifesi shared that she had friends who laughed at her and that she had been the subject of negative rumors and stories.

Despite the challenges, Akinnifesi disclosed that she had overcome them through her faith and personal growth. She encouraged young women who may be facing similar struggles to remain true to themselves and their values. Akinnifesi stated that she had come to realize that she could not be ashamed of her decision to keep her body, and that she had grown to appreciate the value of her virginity.
