Senator John Owan Enoh, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Sports Development, has lauded Tony Elumelu for his significant contributions to revitalizing the country’s local football scene

Enoh praised Elumelu’s dedication and commitment to purchasing league clubs, marking a significant stride towards reshaping Nigeria’s football landscape.

In a recent meeting between Senator Enoh’s delegation and Elumelu, discussions primarily revolved around acquiring a local league club. Elumelu warmly welcomed the delegation and actively facilitated conversations with potential buyers, showcasing his fervor for football development in Nigeria.

Senator Enoh emphasized the government’s determination to bring about substantial changes in the sports sector, stressing the need for a systematic approach to tackle longstanding challenges. He underscored the importance of instilling confidence in Nigeria’s football prowess through a robust domestic structure that embodies the nation’s spirited identity.

Recognizing the crucial role of the private sector in advancing sports development, Senator Enoh called upon corporate entities to capitalize on the abundant opportunities within the sports ecosystem. He highlighted the economic advantages of investing in sports, citing its potential to drive GDP growth, create employment opportunities, and promote national unity.

In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu, Senator Enoh rallied stakeholders to collaborate in rejuvenating the local league and reinstating Nigeria’s sporting eminence.

He urged collective action towards realizing a vibrant and competitive football landscape that aligns with the nation’s aspirations.

Senator John Owan Enoh’s call to action reflects a concerted effort to harness sports’ transformative potential for Nigeria’s socio-economic progress. It signifies a renewed commitment to nurturing local talent and fostering a culture of sporting excellence in the country.
