Flora Ugwunwa Wins Silver In Women’s Javelin F54 At Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Nigeria’s Flora Ugwunwa has secured a silver medal in the women’s Javelin F54 event at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, with an impressive throw of 19.26 metres.

This achievement marks Nigeria’s first medal in Para-Athletics at the ongoing Games and brings the nation’s overall tally to four medals. Ugwunwa, aged 40, continues her remarkable Paralympic journey, having now won her third consecutive medal across three Games—two gold medals from Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, and now a silver in Paris.

Ugwunwa’s consistent success highlights the strength and resilience of Nigerian Paralympians, who have a proud history of winning medals for the country. Her silver in Paris serves as further proof of her enduring talent and determination, and she remains a shining example of Nigerian excellence on the global stage.

As the Paralympics continue, Nigeria looks forward to adding more to their medal haul, inspired by Ugwunwa’s achievement and the spirit of their Paralympic athletes.
