Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has officially appointed Dr. Folakemi Basirat Animashaun as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Lagos State Aids Control Agency (LSACA), effective from October 30, 2023.

The appointment, endorsed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, reflects Dr. Animashaun’s distinguished career as a Medical Doctor, Technocrat, and dedicated Public Servant, showcasing her commendable delivery of technical and practical medical services within the Lagos State Civil Service.

Mr. Agoro stated, “The State Government expects the new Chief Executive Officer to demonstrate a high level of dedication, diligence, and selflessness in the discharge of her duties to justify the confidence and trust reposed in her by Mr. Governor.”

Dr. Animashaun holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State. Additionally, she has achieved a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) with merit from the University of Essex, United Kingdom, and was honored with an MBA with distinction from the University of Chichester Top-up London Graduate School, United Kingdom. Her qualifications also include a Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management from the Metropolitan School of Business Management, United Kingdom, along with several Diploma Certificates from esteemed institutions.

Prior to her recent appointment as the CEO of LSACA, Dr. Animashaun served as the Administrator of the Lagos State Emergency Command and Control Centre, overseeing the coordination of the State’s emergency and non-emergency services. Her diverse and extensive background positions her as a valuable addition to the leadership of LSACA.
