Libya has repatriated twenty hundred and ninety-eight Nigerians back to Nigeria in separate chartered flights early this week. According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the returnees were sent back to the country directly from Libyan prisons. The first flight came with 161 returnees on the 21st August, 2023 while the second flight arrived in the early hours of Monday with 137 Returnees. It was reported that the returnees mostly women had spent varying periods in different detention camps in Libya. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, says the ministry has concluded plans to reintroduce monthly sanitation as part of strategies to keep the city clean. Wike stated this in Abuja on Monday, after a closed-door meeting with contractors handling different projects in the FCT. Spain prosecutors say they have opened a preliminary sex abuse investigation into Spanish football federation president Luis Rubiales.
