The Pension Fund Administrators have recorded N7.98tn profit from investing contributions made by workers into their Retirement Savings Accounts under the Contributory Pension Scheme, according to a new report. The report, from the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria,  revealed that the total funds under the CPS stood at 17.37tn as of the end of second quarter of 2023. Contributions made by the workers from both private and public sectors stood at N9.37tn in the period under review. PDP has called on the INEC to conduct fresh elections in the 27 state constituencies in Rivers State where lawmakers recently defected to APC. In a press statement issued on Monday by Hon. Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will on Wednesday, 13 December 2023, present the Y2024 Budget before the Lagos State House of Assembly. The Appropriation Bill, which will highlight the details of planned capital projects, recurrent expenditure and anticipated revenue for the fiscal year, will be laid for consideration before the House of Assembly. Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala have been named Africa’s best Men and Women’s Player respectively for the year 2023. The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has suspended applications for new loans under its development finance intervention funds. Also, banks are now responsible for recovering those already granted. The apex bank announced this decision in a circular to the Chief Executive of banks, signed by Acting Director, Development Finance Department, Sa’ad Hamidu. Among other things, the CBN said it had commenced pullback from direct development financing interventions. Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, on Monday, met with the members of the State Executive Council.
