Tinubu Approves Adeniran Aderogba As First President Of Regional Maritime Development Bank.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of Nigeria as the host nation for the Regional Maritime Development Bank (RMDB) and appointed Mr. Adeniran Aderogba as its inaugural President and Chief Executive Officer.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, through a press release issued by his Media and Communications Adviser, Bolaji Akinola. This development marks a significant milestone for a project first conceived in 2009 by the Maritime Organization of West and Central Africa (MOWCA) member states.

The RMDB is set to play a pivotal role in advancing maritime development across West and Central Africa, fostering economic growth and regional cooperation. Mr. Aderogba’s appointment as the bank’s first leader underscores Nigeria’s commitment to driving this transformative initiative forward.

This landmark decision signals a new era for maritime innovation and collaboration in the region, with Nigeria at the forefront.
