Former Sports Minister Sunday Dare is set to unveil a new football club, Black Scorpions, in Ogbomosho, Oyo State on April 2nd 2024.

The club aims to compete in the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) with aspirations of securing promotion to the elite Division (NPFL) in the near future.

Dare, a prominent sports enthusiast and philanthropist, expressed his enthusiasm for the club’s launch and highlighted his dedication to developing grassroots football in the South West region.

The primary goal of Black Scorpions is to provide young talented players with a platform to showcase their abilities and potentially pursue careers in professional football.

The unveiling ceremony is expected to draw attendance from numerous sports stakeholders across Nigeria, as well as politicians and dignitaries from Oyo State.

The club, also known as The Stingers, will commence training sessions soon and will actively scout for promising players to bolster their squad. Dare has outlined plans to invest in infrastructure and facilities to further support football development in the state.

With backing from sports enthusiasts and stakeholders nationwide, Black Scorpions are poised to leave a lasting impact on Nigerian football.
