Celebrating the Nigerian Defence Academy’s (NDA), Diamond Jubilee in Kaduna, President Bola Tinubu sent a strong message of support for the country’s armed forces and pointed out the importance of defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity from all threats.

During the event, President Tinubu praised the dedication and sacrifices of the armed forces, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to their welfare and support in executing their duties effectively.

The NDA, established in 1964, has evolved significantly over the decades, playing a vital role in training officers for the Nigerian Armed Forces. President Tinubu emphasised significant turning points in the history of the organisation, such as its 1985 conversion to a full-fledged university that grants degrees.

President Tinubu called on the NDA to become Nigeria’s Silicon Valley, encouraging innovation and supporting startups to tackle modern issues, while also recognising the organization’s accomplishments in research and academic excellence.

President Tinubu acknowledged the leadership of the NDA for their invaluable contributions and conveyed his belief in the military’s ability to address the issues of banditry, insurgency, and criminality that beset the country. In addition to calling for constant attention to preserve Nigeria’s sovereignty, he paid tribute to the heroes who lost their lives.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to prioritizing the needs of the armed forces and emphasized the urgency of upscaling efforts to combat insecurity. While acknowledging relative peace achieved, he stressed the ongoing nature of the struggle until every inch of Nigerian territory is secured.
