PRP Condemns PDP’s Call For Foreign Intervention In Party Affairs

The Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, has strongly condemned the call by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for foreign intervention in its internal affairs, describing it as unpatriotic and driven by an inferiority complex.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the PRP National Chairman, Falalu Bello, said the call is an insult to Nigeria’s sovereignty, independence, and dignity, values that countless patriots have fought to uphold. He stressed that such appeals expose an alarming inferiority complex among some Nigerian politicians.

Bello added that the call by the PDP reflects a troubling lack of confidence in Nigeria’s inherent resilience, democratic institutions, and the collective strength of its people, regardless of general perceptions about the country.

He emphasized that Nigeria is a sovereign nation with defined territories, an independent government, and free from external interference. Bello stated, “Our challenges must be solved through internal dialogue, robust democratic processes, and patriotic leadership – not through external forces and foreign powers that may seek to manipulate our internal affairs for their own interests.”

Bello further warned that Nigeria does not need the interference of imperialist states to resolve its crises, but rather genuine patriotism, unity, internally driven solutions, and partners who will not take advantage of the nation. He described the call for foreign intervention as incendiary and misguided.

He concluded by urging the PDP to immediately withdraw the statement and called on all Nigerian leaders to uphold the nation’s dignity. He stressed that any attempt to undermine Nigeria’s sovereignty under the guise of “saving democracy” is a betrayal of national dignity and a setback to collective progress, reiterating that Nigeria’s destiny lies in the hands of its resilient people.
